I just had enjoyable experience of viewing Steve Maxwell’s new “Bodyweight Basics” videos. I am thoroughly impressed. For those of you who don’t know Steve Maxwell, here is the short version of his bio. Western Pennsylvania born, a wrestler and lifter from an early age. College and military duty with both grappling and physical fitness included. Steve’s been at the cutting edge of human conditioning for well over forty years. He has a martial arts background as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, but also has training in Muay Thai, Kenpo and more recently work in Systema. His videos are sold around the world as Steve circles the globe training a wide variety of people, from world class fighters to the average family next door.
These Bodyweight Basics are what I consider foundational material for anyone who is in the fitness game, or anyone with a need to get into better shape. They literally spell out everything. The word, “thorough”, is somehow not enough. The camera work is superior, clear, and it’s like having Steve personally teach you. Not only does he show the exercises, but a huge amount of corrective drills. These may be the most powerful part of the whole package. Things like this simply can’t be invented. They are collected over years of training individuals with various differences in biomechanics, injuries, age and weight.
The emphasis is put on the use of homemade equipment and avoiding spending hard earned cash on overly hyped tools that do little but remove money from your pocket. Steve believes exercise should be readily available and not expensive.
It goes without saying that I highly recommend this video package. You may purchase them at this link.

If you think this is still hype, well look at the photo at the top of the page. Steve is 60 years old and has been using these same bodyweight drills while living out of a backpack, traveling the globe. Stop making excuses, buy the videos!
